Via reader Secret Agent: A shot of this morning's destruction of Santa Monica Place. After closing in January, demolition started a couple a weeks ago on the mall, designed by architect Frank Gehry just a mere 27 years ago. Retail developer Macerich will be done with its extensive mall--you're getting high-end retail in an open-air shopping experience--by fall 2009. (Full gallery of the project is here.) We believe this is a shot of the entrance to the mall.
