New, 13 comments

LOS ANGELES: All the bloggers are atwitter with the news that local street artist Shepard Fairey (creater of the famous Barack Obama "Hope" poster) sent a cease and desist letter to a Baxter Orr, a Texas artist who was imitating his work. Above, Fairey on Johnie's and the imposter's work on the lower left. Yes, we realize we just gave publicity to both of them. [C Monster]

DOWNTOWN: It's baaaack! One of the cooler programs run by the LA Conservancy, Last Remaining Seats, returns with the summer lineup. This year the program includes "Gentleman Prefer Blondes", "Mildred Pierce," and "Goldfinger," among others. And new this year, the recently renovated and re-opened Million Dollar Theater plays host to a few of the films. Tickets go on sale April 23 to the general public, but members can buy them now.
