Flying private out of Van Nuys Airport will get a bit more tony: The Los Angeles Business Journal has the latest on plans for the new terminal (it's not yet approved) at Van Nuys Airport, a $30 million facility that will "cater to the airport’s predominantly wealthy clientele, including celebrities and business executives. The angular design is based on origami cranes, and is a far cry from the beige boxes that currently populate the airport." According to the Journal, this would be the first new jet terminal in nearly 20 years at Van Nuys airport, which has a total of five terminal operators and is busiest general aviation airport in the world. Who knew. A master plan for the Van Nuys airport was approved in 2005. [LABJ] Post updated: Older renderings taken down, new ones hopefully en route.
