The Broads Drop $10M On Santa Monica Performing Arts Center

Philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad—the same Bs of BCAM—have created a $10 mil endowment for the new Santa Monica College performing arts center. The center is comprised of a new 499-seat performance space—opening Sept. 20 with a performance by Barbara Cook—that will be named The Broad Stage and an adjacent, already-opened 99-seat theatre with the moniker of the The Edye Second Space. Mr. B told the LA Times that the best news about the venues, located at 11th and Arizona, is, "you've got some 300-odd parking spaces right in front of it.
