Demand For Affordable Abodes Remains

New, 22 comments

Kerry Cavanaugh of the Daily News reports that Housing LA, a coalition of housing advocates, business and religious leaders, is seeking the City's help to create more affordable housing. "The coalition is pushing for three policies: 1) Require that developers include affordable housing in new projects (a policy called inclusionary or mixed-income housing). 2) Stop or slow the number of affordable rental units that are demolished or converted to condominiums. 3) Set aside a permanent source of funding for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund that helps pay for new low-income housing projects."
