"It hopefully is the seed for other developers to come in." That's Councilmen Val Lerch of the 9th District talking to the Press-Telegram's Paul Eakins about "North Village Center," a planned 180-unit mixed-used project at Atlantic Avenue between South and 59th streets that'll offer 50,000 square feet of commercial/retail, a new library branch, and a community center. According to the paper, the city has been on a spending spree, snapping up local properties--but without using eminent domain--and tomorrow night, locals can weigh in on North Village Center, one of two major developments planned for the area (the other is planned for Market and Long Beach Boulevard).
