Arts lovers in Venice can relax. Last Friday, the LA City Council voted unanimously to endorse renewing Beyond Baroque's lease for another 25 years. The literary and arts center at 891 Venice Boulevard, which pays $1/month in rent, was facing closure after a City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo indicated that his office wouldn't be recommending approval of a previously promised 25-year lease for Beyond Baroque, but City Council "approved the lease at a locked-in rate of $1 per year."
