Curbed Reader Comment Round-Up

New, 3 comments

The best posts usually originate in our comments. To give appreciation to our amazing (and sometimes angry) commenters we feature their broad strokes of wisdom in a tidy comment roundup.

1) ConstructionWatch: Vermont Triangle Park in Los Feliz "Oh great. A perfect place for a picnic. When I'm too lazy to walk the extra block to a real park, I can throw down a blanket and watch the buses go by. A great view of a bank, a Starbucks, and a carwash, too. How very LA."

2) CurbedWire: Santa Monica Development, Los Feliz Triangle, Hollywood Sign "Oh fer crissakes, the H'wood sign is about the only enduring landmark we have in LA. What else do we got? A signature bridge, skyscraper, monument? No, nada. It's the sign. Let the tourons photograph the sign from the street, the sidewalk, the middle of the street. You smug locals need to realize that it was there before you moved into the neighborhood. It's like moving to beach and complaining about the traffic in the summer. Deal with it!"

3) Top Design 2 with a Tutu? "I just hope dead-behind-the-eyes Todd Oldham isnt back. He had some of the freakiest plastic surgery ever. Between Kelly's Lion-King hairdo (with fingerless lace gloves - genius) and Jonathon Adler doing his best sassy Jewish Grandma impersonation, that show was a train-wreck."

4) Reader Rant: Tourist-Unfriendly Downtown Sidewalk Closure "Is 'tourist' code word for homeless? Because all the people I see downtown are 'homeless'. Except for those super cool invisible people that live in lofts. I heard if you live in a loft your cool, but I've never met one so I don't know for sure."
