Before the state decides whether to put it up for sale, the LA Coliseum will host the Dodgers this weekend, as they celebrate 50 years in LA with an exhibition games against the Boston Red Sox. Potential buyers of the complex will want to note that for $450-$750 million you get seating for 100K-plus; but, really, it's a gut job if you're considering using it for baseball: "[Juan] Pierre, the Dodgers’ probable left fielder (rather, deep shortstop), said he did not believe the dimensions when he was told of them a few weeks ago. He gradually feared for his safety. “I’ll be like 180 feet from the hitters, and those Boston guys hit the ball pretty hard,” Pierre said. “I might have to wear a cup.” [NY Times]
