Yet another assault on public and private property: On Monday, robbers sawed off and stole one of two heraldic stone lions from a concrete base in front of a Linda Vista home in Pasadena. (The other lion was "loosened," but not taken.) These are rather famous lions--they used to sit in front of the Security Pacific National Bank on Lake Ave. and Colorado Blvd. According to the Pasadena Star-News, the whole incident has the Linda Vista/Annandale Homeowners Association up in arms about the process of reporting crime in Pasadena (there was some confusion about filing the report), while the grieving homeowners fear the robbers will come back for the second lion. Unclear: The going rate for a heraldic stone lion. [Pasadena Star News]
