Much chatter at the AVNC forum about Los Feliz Charter School for the Arts moving from Fairfax Avenue to a location behind Best Buy and Costco on Los Feliz Blvd., for 70 years the site of a Franciscan ceramics facility that disposed waste and sludge there. A school rep defends: "The administration of the school is well aware of the remediation of the 45 acre Franciscan site. The site that the school is planning to occupy was not contaminated. Annually, the ground water is tested at the site, and all testing to date has been found to be 'clean.'" [Atwater Village Neighborhood Council Forum]
