From March 3-9, the Movement for Justice in El Barrio organization will bring its speaking tour to the un-gentrified masses of Boyle Heights, MacArthur Park, Echo Park, South LA, and East Hollywood. The group was spawned by the gentrification of Spanish Harlem and now claims to fight "the actions of multinational corporations, abusive and greedy landlords, and the city institutions that are agents of the gentrification of our neighborhood." The speaking tour will teach residents how to organize and fight the man. So, does this mean Boyle Heights won't be getting that Starbucks after all? [Curbed InBox]
