Curbed Reader Comment Round-Up

The best posts usually originate in our comments. To give appreciation to our amazing (and sometimes angry) commenters we feature their broad strokes of wisdom in a tidy comment roundup.

1) Construction Watch: Downtown's Orsini. That's Amore! "try approaching from the east on sunset. it's like a hall of mirrors from your worst nightmare. who in christ's name rents these things? proof there's such a thing as zombies and aliens if you ask me." [pescador]

2) Construction Watch: Downtown's Orsini. That's Amore! "Empty retail was the developers point. The city forced him to add ground floor retail. He didn't want to, so he designed it so that no one wants to set up shop. Plus he does ZERO work to recruit tenants. It's not part of his business plan. Thank you, city planners, for letting this schmuck f*ck up downtown."

3) Jean Nouvel Planning Green-Fringed Tower For Century City "The NIMBY's can be bought off... some new twin tower project just recently did it. I'm sure this development can do the same. People will be opposed to it until the developer pays them off... then they'll be ok with it. I say, if the demand is there, build it. If not, don't. The worse CC gets (traffic), the better chance there is of public outcry for a subway extension." [LASam]
