Koreatown Report: Retail Padding Out Wilshire Vermont Station

New, 27 comments

The latest signs at Wilshire Station, the new mixed-use project in Koreatown, indicate a nail salon, a beauty supply shop and a small market are all forthcoming. Nine West, Coffee Bean, and others have already opened. Additionally, twisted colorful ropes now fill the sky. But the aesthetic question remains: Does well does that interior, open-air space work? How do people feel when they're walking around the square? One might argue the introduction of an outdoor cafe (well, there's a Coffee Bean), could add a European feel to the plaza, but maybe there's no room. Let's poke around!
