Your weekly construction report on CIM's Sunset and Vine aka the straightest building ever: Swift progress on its glass cladding. The north side is almost done, other than the top floors, and the east side is coming along quite nicely. But there's still no word on what stores are moving into the base of this 59-unit apartment building; developer CIM's web site indicates Sunset and Vine's new residents will be living above 7,000 square-feet of retail. Here's a naive idea that'd never fly, but how about instead of the Coffee Bean/Juice it Up/Pizza Hut combo, the neighborhood gets a bagel shop/magazine store/flower store mix instead? Idealists, yes.
