Just getting around to Blogdowntown's report from the Tuesday night Metro meeting about downtown's proposed Regional Connector. What your beady eyes are peering at here: That's how 2nd street (LAPD headquarters is on the left and Higgins building on the right) would look, but it's a proposal that "brought concern from a varied group of stakeholders," writes Blogdowntown. "Issues raised included the effect on Little Tokyo events that currently use the street, the ability of LAFD to navigate a single narrow lane left for vehicle traffic, the effect of trains on north-south traffic, and whether such an option would provide the capacity needed." Lots more images and maps at the blog, while another Metro meeting was held this afternoon. We will patiently await an update.
