The Other Great Drainage of '08: Elysian Reservoir

New, 11 comments

While the much bigger Silver Lake Reservoir has been getting all the attention lately, we shouldn't forget the Elysian Reservoir, just east of Dodger Stadium. We stopped by the big concrete tank yesterday but couldn't get very close due to the 10-foot tall fence, barbed wire, razor wire, and some menacing-looking dude driving circles around the pit in a white SUV - that can't be good for the environment. Like Silver Lake Reservoir, the Elysian Reservoir is being drained due to the presence of cancer causing (but apparently tasty) bromate. Mmm, mmm, good. Curbed flickr pool member Echo 29 provides a much closer drainage pic from earlier this month.
