California assemblymember Mike Feuer—who reps nabes from Los Feliz to West L.A.— has introduced a package of transpo legislation that if passed, could make the subway dream map a reality. According to the California Chronicle, Feuer's package of bills includes a provision authorizing an additional 0.5% sales tax in Los Angeles County upon the approval of the voters. This revenue would pay for projects in MTA´s Long Range Transportation Plan, to which the downtown to Santa Monica subway is likely to be added. Also in Feuer's bill—fees for Hummer-lovers that would pay for air pollution programs. [California Chronicle]
