WEST HOLLYWOOD - Alexander McQueen isn't the only luxury brand about the descend on Melrose Place. Plywood is up further down the block ( just off La Cienega) for boutique retailer Ports 1961. According to WWD, the store is slated to open this spring, while New York is getting a store this fall.

COSTA MESA - South Coast Plaza gets yet another luxury brand, this one for the over 50-crowd. Oscar de la Renta opens its first Orange County boutique. The 2,600-square-foot space features the label's complete ready-to-wear and accessories collections. [LA Times]

SILVER LAKE - The whole retail section around restaurant Dusty's on Sunset Blvd. continues to get more upscale and now there's GoGosha Optique, which is opening a store at 208 1/2 Sunset Blvd. Fancy frames for your face, people. Signage (pictured left) is up, and the web site indicates a March opening. According to the web site, lines Oliver Goldsmith, Cutler & Gross, Mykita, Theo, and others will be available at the store.
