On how to be homeless and remain undetected: "I was homeless for about a year, yet only a few people knew about it. Here are a few tips that will help you survive homelessness and keep people from finding about your situation." Among his other tips: 1. Get a part-time job so you have a place to go during the day. 2. You can always sleep in a hospital waiting rooms. OK, he also advocates theft from Wal-Mart (the store doesn't prosecute shoplifters who lift items under $20, "so be really careful and take smaller items"), but it's a pretty compelling read and will make you very grateful to have a place to live. And maybe it'll inspire you to volunteer this holiday season (LA Works has the best volunteer calender out there). Via LA Homeless Blog. [Lotta Valdez]
