The New York Times' Style Magazine takes a trip into Second Life to see what architects are designing in the virtual world, and it turns out there are plenty of strip malls and McMansions, as well as "beautiful contemporary houses with waterfront views, arabesque fortresses, medieval castles, Japanese villages and stunning re-creations of real-life architectural masterpieces like the Palace of Versailles or Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House."
