Santa Monica's Synagogue Fails To Break Dreidel-Spinning Record

New, 3 comments

The Jewish Journal's Jay Firestone passes on the disappointing news that the Santa Monica Synagogue failed to break the World Record for Most Dreidels Spinning Simultaneously (for 10 full seconds). Participants gathered last week at the 3rd Street promenade to give it a try. "But on the promenade's cracked and creased pavement, spinning a dreidel for 10 seconds proved harder for the less experienced spinners. Ultimately, the effort fell short of its goal, only 336 dreidel spinners hit their 10-second mark." Santa Monica's loss means that Temple Emanuel of Cherry Hill, N.J. remains the current record holder.
