Blog Lofty Thoughts first reported that the Vons in Lincoln Heights was closing (that's a photo--taken on Dec. 13th--of the sign being dismantled), and now comes word--via the NELA listserve--that the BIg Lots on York Boulevard in Highland Park is closing. The woman who answered the phone at Big Lots told us the store would close sometimes in January, but not specific date had been set.
