New Bridge for Valley Boulevard

New, 4 comments

The Eastsider LA blog reports that motorists in El Sereno residents will soon be getting a new $54 million bridge that'll help alleviate traffic waits on Valley Boulevard. Here's how the blog describes the current situation (a 30 minute wait!): "If you drive down Valley Boulevard in El Sereno, consider yourself lucky if you've never had to stop at Alhambra Road to wait for a passing train. The crossing arms come down to block traffic as many as 32 times a day, leaving motorists to wait 30 minutes or more in some cases, said Rick Coca, spokesman for councilman Jose Huizar. 'It's a nightmare for residents, commuters and fire and police,' he said." [Eastsider LA]
