Following up on that post about honking, here's some information about how the city's drivers compare to drivers in other cities. Writes Los Angeles magazine's Chris Nichols in the December issue: "Surprisingly, only 13.7 percent of citations within L.A.’s city limits are for speeding—but that’s more than in the entire state of New Jersey. Nationwide we rank fourth in low-speed freeway collisions; among cities we are second to New York in traffic deaths overall. However, we still have fewer accidents per capita than Montgomery, Dallas, or Winston-Salem, and only a third as many as rip-roarin’ Chattanooga." Previous honking post here. [LA Mag]
