There's not a lot of new information in the New York Times' story about the city's billboard situation, but it is interesting to hear City Council President Eric Garcetti admit the deal the city made a few years back with the billboard company was a mistake (this interview follows other recent interviews in which he says it was a mistake). Meanwhile, the Times piece draws attention to an issue currently being raised by homeowners: The billboards are lighting up the bedrooms and living rooms of residents. “We started noticing that we were having false sunrises," one Westwood resident tells the paper.
