EaterTastings: Bastide Shutters, Drago Centro Opens Downtown, Intelligentsia Locale Revealed

The latest dish from Eater LA, Curbed's hedonistic eating and drinking blog...

[Bye Bye Bastide]

WEST HOLLYWOOD: A moment of silence please. Temperamental restaurant owner and ad guy Joe Pytka has shuttered Bastide after a two-year hiatus, numerous chef shuffles and several menu changes. The Campbell soup cans were just one of the questionable design choices.

DOWNTOWN: Expect a soft opening this Saturday for Drago Centro in the City National Plaza on Flower Street. From restaurateur Celestino Drago, expect an enomatic wine system, "traditional Italian classics and contemporary reinterpretations of others."

VENICE: Eater puts the pieces together and surmises the new location for Intelligentsia's west side location will be the Scentiments space on Abbot Kinney. Estimated opening: late January or early February. Wait, does Intelligentsia count as a chain?
