Japanese artist, handbag design-collaborator, and Kanye West video director Takashi Murakami is moving to LA! Actually, he's opening an animation and film studio in LA. Per the LA Times, the artist's production company has leased a building on Highland Avenue, with 6,220 square feet of space on the first floor and 2,760 square feet on the second level. Last year, Murakami was the subject of a blockbuster mid-career retrospective at the now-troubled MOCA; the studio's first project will be a feature-length film based on his shorts in the show 'Planting the Seeds.'
