Marina Arts District was the name locals were trying to pin to an area in Marina Del Rey--as a way to differentiate this pocket of the neighborhood--but there was never any confirmation that this name was officially chosen. Was it? (Marina Lofts District was also being kicked around.) Meanwhile, distract yourself with interior shots of the newly completed Element lofts (these are various units). All told, there are eight floor plans ranging from 973-1,594 square feet and units are priced from the mid-$500,000s and up. We're told the architect is Jonathan Watts of Cuningham Group Architecture. The marketing agency did an interview with the architect (interesting sales technique); the video posting is here (among other things, he talks about the use of concrete as a temperature-controller, ie, it doesn't heat up in the afternoon sun). The building, according to marketers, is 30 percent sold.
