The Garment & Citizen reports that on January 1, a new law goes into effect that requires that energy consumption in non-residential offices be monitored by gas and electric utilities. "The data will then be provided to state officials to use in establishing benchmarks on energy use at individual buildings sometime in 2010." More about the law here. Does this mean that eventually downtown office buildings--in any city--will turn off more of their lights after hours? [G & C]
