The best posts usually originate in our comments. To give appreciation to our amazing (and sometimes angry) commenters we feature their broad strokes of wisdom in a tidy comment roundup.
1) CurbedWire: Hollywood Park Looks So Very Nice and Green "Do you realize that this is not JUST A PARK? I think everyone has to look beyond what is being presented. This is a chance for Los Angeles to sew neighborhoods together that have been detached by concrete. Everyone complains that urban planning in LA is flawed but when we do get serious about planning accordingly, it is 'too expensive' and 'arrogant.' This will transform LA if it does go through. It is not a mini project-it's a massive one that will place LA at the forefront of urban design and LA has not seen that title ever."
2) Mar Vista Mail Watch "I would like to say that just because it's a low income housing projects doesn't mean that's it's a bad place. We have our issues yes, but what neighborhood doesn’t. He has 601 units and a good amount of residents are elderly or disabled. A short walk for most is not so easy for them. Let’s say they place 601 boxes in the front, somewhere an elderly/disabled person that lives 2-3 building away can’t make it there, so you can just imagine if you live further what trouble you are still going to go through to get your mail. Now they are suggesting placing boxes between every 2 or 3 building?HELLO that means a postal worker will still need to come into a gated community that they are scared to put a foot in. What is the logic behind that?"
3) MOCA Needs a Bailout, Govan on Broad's New Museum "This is the same route Armand Hammer took in the 90s - he used Oxy's money to build his vanity musuem which was then forced to "merge" with UCLA. Broad's museum won't be indy for long."
