The latest store info and sidewalk scenes from street-obsessed Racked LA, the newest member of the Curbed family.

ECHO PARK: This is the block that has been called Ground Zero for Echo Park gentrification. Scenes from the Saturday night party for Stories, a new and used bookstore and cafe at 1716 Sunset Boulevard that was designed by friend of Curbed Ripple Architecture. Hey, slackers/freelancers: There's free wifi!

DOWNTOWN: Will fans get to watch Project Runway next month? The saga continues, says Racked LA, picking up the latest Reuters news.

PASADENA: Just in time for all that holiday, err, shopping? Holiday shopping needs a bailout! Pasadena Macy's at 401 Lake Avenue will reopen Saturday; the department store closed for major seismic upgrades and renovations earlier this year. Apparently, the store has sold 5,000 tickets for its opening weekend community shopping day, described as a " joint venture with local non-profits who sold the tickets at $10 each."

CABAZON: Bargain luxury goods in the desert? Nothing better. This Friday, Jimmy Choo opens a 3,000-square-foot outlet store, joining luxury brands YSL, Dior, and Gucci at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets.
