Another example of so-called urban acupuncture, this is the public pocket park that'll be located off Formosa Avenue, right next to Lorcan O'Herlihy Architects' multi-hued 11-unit building. According to Sam Baxter, planning facilities manager for West Hollywood, the 4,000 square foot park, which was designed by Katherine Spitz Associates, will break ground either by the end of the month, or early next month, and be finished in about 90 days. "This is a passive pocket park," he tells us. There's a variety of trees and bushes and a water fountain for all of you to enjoy, while the park will be closed after sunset (there is a locked gate that'll be backlit at night) to keep out whatever nefarious activity could occur.
