Wait, this is new? According to Architect magazine, the Getty Research Institute has announced that it's creating a new Department of Architecture and Design. The department is to be led by Wim de Wit and was created for the Getty to build "a better mechanism to engage the architectural community" according to de Wit. The Getty already has a significant archive of Southern California architecture but wants to build its national and international archives, according to the publication. [Architect Online]
