Overheard: Old-Timey LA Looks Fake in 'The Changeling'

New, 10 comments

Where: A cubicle on the Westside. When: Post-coffee a.m. Who: A co-worker, talking about the weekend. What: "The Changeling was good, but it really looked like [the actors] were just standing in front of sets." Clint Eastwood's movie takes place in late '20s, early '30 LA and includes replicas of City Hall and the Red Cars. Apparently, not very convincing replicas. UPDATE: Commenters point out original street cars were used, and at least some of our readers are stating that the film did indeed look authentic. Dunno. [Curbed Staff]
