Boxing is close to being back in Glendale. The Glendale News-Press's Jason Wells reports that on Tuesday night, the Glendale City Council "agreed to temporarily lift a 61-year-old ban on pro boxing to assess the impact a match would have on the city." The move paves the way for a possible boxing event at the Civic Auditorium in Glendale, which has outlawed professional fighting since 1947 over fears of the vices--gambling! whoring! gum chewin!--that accompany professional fighting.
