The latest store info and sidewalk scenes from street-obsessed Racked LA, the newest member of the Curbed family.
MELROSE AVENUE: Watch your eye. Beckley boutique, which opened on Melrose earlier this year, is sporting a new look. "Giant grasshoppers, dragonflies and other critters hold court in the storefront amidst giant leafy metallic shrubs and accessories. The bugs are thankfully painted silver, baby blue and green, which makes them less creepy crawler and more fantasy." Full bug tour here.
LOS ANGELES: As you gear up for tonight's VP debate, know this: Mrs. Obama shops at H & M. Her latest look is here, while there's also a new blog dedicated to her style. Uhm, is H & M made in Chinese-polluting factories? We can't remember.
BEVERLY HILLS: What downturn? Retail real estate is doing just fine, thank you very much. CB Richard Ellis VP Jay Luchs on Rodeo Drive: “As bad as times are and as much as the retail industry is going to feel an effect, there is just so little available space that rents are still going up...Rodeo Drive, Robertson Boulevard and Malibu are all very strong.”
