Michael Freeman is quoted on City News Service saying that firefighters are doing their best to check the Porter Ranch-Browns Canyon fire "from making a run down toward the Pacific Coast," which is about 15 miles and two mountain ranges — the Simi Hills and Santa Monicas — away from the flames.
