El Centro Lofts, an 18-unit building located just a brisk stroll from Vine and Sunset, kicked off for sales in August and was a recent Development Du Jour. Notably, marketers are targeting those Westsiders who can't afford to live on the Westside: The web site notes that El Centro has the "spirit of Venice." We stopped by last weekend to check out units--in the gallery is a 1,539-square-foot unit that's listed for $729,000. High points included the little dressing room; low points included the telephone wire view from the bed. Overall, prices range from $499,000-$729,000, square footage ranges from 947-1565. And can I get a HOA? Those range from $250-$289.
