Construction Watch: USC's School of Cinematic Arts

New, 7 comments

Are construction workers in this town subsisting on a diet of speed and Diet Coke? When we checked in on USC's School of Cinematic Arts, the faux-Mediterranean, George Lucas-funded (and possibly partly designed), 130,000-square-foot school last September, it was barely a twinkle in its benefactor's eye. Now it's all grown up. Still, we can't help but think it's a missed opportunity. If only Lucas and USC had chosen Thom Mayne to design the building. Think of the synergy.

And the architect's rendering.
