Developer Rick Caruso picked the name "Excelsior Lane" for a private street at his new shopping center Americana at Brand. Yes, the name is after his new Americana building "Excelsior." The Redevelopment Agency hates the street's name, says it has no connection to Glendale. Too lordly, perhaps. They've asked Caruso to come explain himself and the name at a meeting next week. [GNP]
