The pilot program to allow hybrid vehicles to park for free at parking meters, has been successful enough that the program will be adopted into LA City Code. The draft ordinance is now online, and will go before the Transportation Committee for review. Via the City Attorney's report: "...the rate in every Parking Meter Zone for vehicles displaying Clean Air Vehicle Decals issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 5205.5 shall be $0.00 per hour." That kind of sucks for the late adopters who can't get those decals anymore.
