On The Market: The OTHER Singleton Home

New, 10 comments

While the Neutra-designed Singleton house sits on the market interminably (with a hefty $20 million price tag, reduced from the heftier $25 million price tag), the Singleton family has put another Los Angeles estate on the market. For $85 million. Yes, you read that right - $85 million. Apparently after the Singleton's tired of their mid-century modern home, they commissioned Wallace Neff to build a 10-bedroom, 11.5-bath estate in Bel Air. The house has never been on the market before and sits on "over 7 acres, on 3 parcels of gated grounds, which include rolling lawns, lush gardens, tennis court, pool & massive motor court, plus additional parking. Grand entryway, high ceilings, over-sized doors, incredible moldings/details thruout." Real Estalker provides more detail on the history of the Singletons, but points out that he/she "would never want to live in a big ol' house that looks like a galleria mall in Dallas with a Tiananmen Square sized parking lot out front." Well put.
