Reporting on Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster's recent State of the City address, the Press-Telegram says the mayor has an idea on how to resolve the issue of trash and pollution-- being delivered via the San Gabriel and Los Angeles rivers--to the city's coastline. "One option may be to include diverting the mouth of the L.A. River back westward to its ancestral path into the port," he says. Meanwhile, the Long Beach Post has published photos of the trash, images that look more like the trash compacter on the Star Wars Death Star than a beach.
