The ongoing battle over the city's Industrial Land Use policy continues. It seems the plan to stop residential/commercial development around the industrial eastside of downtown will happen over the dead bodies of several of our esteemed council representatives. Via commenter TroubledMind: "[Jan Perry] and [Jose Huizar] today [Monday] introduced a motion to direct the city attorney to prepare an ordinance that would prohibit the planning department from implementing the industrial land-use policy. They're asking the council, in essence, to prohibit implementation of a policy that the council, in adopting the general plan, directed them to implement. This is so over-the-top as to defy rational discussion." Next stop for the traveling industrial circus is the January 17th meeting of the CRA Board of Commissioners. More fireworks?
