Venice's Mysterious Wooden Cage

An odd-looking wooden structure sits atop a building in Venice on Main Street, a few blocks down from the Abbot-Kinney intersection. (We think it's Main Street). And there seems to be plenty of trees and shrubs on the roof, food, perhaps, for whatever/whomever is kept in the cage. Closer look after the jump.
