Cherokee Lofts: A Not So Quiet Home for Musicians

Fascinating happenings on Fairfax with the news that Cherokee Studios at 751 N. Fairfax has closed to make way for Cherokee Lofts, a building of "live/work lofts for musicians," according to this article from music production magazine Mix. RE-Think Development is one of the partners behind the LEED-certified loft building which'll also be "acoustically designed to facilitate home recording." Opened in 1975, Cherokee Studio's clients have included David Bowie, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and Michael Jackson, according to the story. All we could dig up was a rendering of the forthcoming building, but we'll post more info on the development once we get it.
