It's Exciting! In Defense of Filming Downtown

Despite some downtowners' annoyance about all those film shoots, Marketplace reporter and downtown resident Lisa Napoli defends downtown filming in an editorial in today's Downtown News. Los Angeles is the heart of the film industry--what do you expect? Also, it's pretty--put it up on film! Plus, D.C. shuts down for a presidential motorcades, so every city has its annoyances. But her "poorly managed" building isn't very good at posting film announcements, so one suggestion: "My only beef is about the specifics. Maybe some better outreach, even if it was an off-duty cop who whispered a bit more information to the public about why Steve Carrell is running down the street - maybe that would help keep the peace."
