Swinging a hammer for no pay doesn't consume us as much as, say, rabbit skill-athons or home-brew beer competitions. But here's a way to have our funnel cake and eat it too: Pomona Valley Habitat for Humanity is building two homes at the LA County Fair, with 500 volunteers over 18 days. Then the houses move to the city of Pomona where eligible humanity will inhabit them by April 2008.
