Leonardo DiCaprio tries escaping to Long Beach in The 11th Hour
This weekend we stayed awake through most of The 11th Hour, the 8th-grade social studies slide show global warming documentary from Leonardo DiCaprio. Imagine talking-head interviews cut with footage of natural and man-made disasters. Like earthquakes, rain forests, polar bears ... and downtown Los Angeles. We counted no fewer than 10 grainy, smoggy angles on downtown LA, not including the blue-sky money shot when they talk about carbon-neutral cities and self-sustaining buildings.
LA may still rank as America's most polluted city, but isn't this about global warming? Couldn't Leo get royalty-free shots of Beijing? Or Pittsburgh?
